I love watching the seabirds when I visit the beach, but I have to zoom in with a camera to get this close to one. In this painting, the blurred edges on the gull and dry-brush effects on the waves are meant to convey the constant movement of the birds and water. To remain true to my branding as Inspiring Southern Ambiance, I chose a common term any Carolinian would know--Carolina Gull, for Carolina Girl.
Carolina Gull is part of the 2017 exhibition of Women Painters of the Southeast. This 10x10 inch linen canvas is painting around the edges and ready to hang as is.
