I love driving the Heritage Corridor to Charleston, especially when cotton is blooming. The scenic route is my favorite way to travel! I wanted to paint the softness of cotton but in a way that brought bold color into it, and this painting is the result. The original painting is sold to a collector in Texas.

The unpredictable effects that come from my pastels or brushes always surprises me, and in this painting, the cotton plants beg a viewer to touch them!
