"Survivors" is inspired by my novel "Hugo," the second story in the Painter Place series, which will be released on December 8, 2015. The characters endure the wrath of Hurricane Hugo, which ravaged the Charleston, SC area in 1989 as a Category 4 storm--in the darkness of night, at high tide.
