Description
I wanted to create a Christmas card this year with a casual, inviting beach theme, like the area where I live. Little art galleries and unique shops with handmade gifts are a joy to go into any time of year, but especially at Christmas! My goal was to paint a fresh, whimsical little boutique painting that would make viewers wish it was real and they could go inside.
The Seaside boutique/gallery is lit with warm yellow inside to signify hope and bring a smile, and the glow and reflected light bouncing from the gifts and the flamingo are fun in the twilight as the twinkling lights begin to come on. The added touch for me, as a Christian, was to remind passers-by of why Christmas exists. Jesus is the reason!
This watercolor painting is intended to be a card design, but can be custom ordered with prints in many sizes and materials to brighten your Christmas decorations! The original is painted on 140lb multimedia watercolor paper and is 9x12, ready to frame.
